She was sleeping.
- การกระทำหรือเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นและจบลงอย่างรวดเร็ว แต่เกิดขึ้นซ้ำๆ เช่น
The boy is hitting my dog with a stick.
- การกระทำหรือเหตุการณ์ที่ยังไม่เสร็จสมบูรณ์
I am writing a book on global warming.
- การกระหรือเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึั้นชั่วคราว
She is living in London.
- การกระทำหรือเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นในอนาคตซึ่งได้มีการวางแผนเกี่ยวกับสิ่งนั้นไว้แล้วในปัจจุบัน
She is flying to China tonight.
Second, perfective aspect. There are many reason to know that is perfctive aspect:
- เหตุการณืนั้นเกิดขึ้นแล้วมีความเชื่อมโยงกับเหตุการณ์หรือเวลามภายหลัง
The thief had run away when the police arrived.
- เหตุการณ์นั้นเกิดขึ้นแล้วและยังดำเนินอยู่ในปัจจุบัน
We have lived in Japan since last year.
- เหตุการณืที่เกิดแล้วโดยไม่ระบุเวลาแน่ชัด แต่เกิดขึ้นอย่างน้อย 1 ครั้ง
I have been to India before.
- เหตุการณ์นั้นเกิดขึ้นแล้วและยังส่งผลจนถึงปัจจุบัน
He has cut himself/ I have eaten rice.
The another example:
- ระหว่างที่ฉันรอพบหมอ ฉันอ่านนิตยสารจบสองเล่ม
While I waiting to see the doctor, I read two magazines.
- หนูนาไปลอนดอน แล้วจะกลับมาปีหน้า
Nhuna has gone to London, she will be back next year.
