Week 11

In this week, I studied about imperative sentence. There are many types of imperative sentence such as, order, request, instruction, suggestion and invitative. After that, I'd like to show the example of imperative sentence.

1. Order = Give me a book!
2. Request = Pass the John!
3. Instruction = Turn right at the corner.
4. Suggestion = Try the smoked salmon.
5. Invitation = Come around on the Sunday.

Week 10

In the last week, I shared you the dialogue and new vocabularies. In this week, I'd like to add dialogue and new vocabularies agains. If you ready, let's see together.

Part 2

Suda: I've got spare tickets. Why don't you come to the party with me?
Nan: Wow...That sounds great, only one problem...I've got nothing to wear a fancy dress party.
Suda: I'm going as David Beckham, so why don't you go as Posh Spice?
Nan: Hey, that's a great idea!

In the part 2, a fancy dress party is a party where people dress up as famous celebrities or film, cartoon, fairy tale characters, such as Luke Sky Walker, Mickey Mouse, Snow White or Cinderella. Fancy dress parties are very popular at centain times of the year, such as Halloween, Christmas and New Year.

Part 3

Suda : when should I come over?
Nan : Anytime before 9.00 o'clock, but the taxi is orderfor ten past nine, so don't be late!
Suda : Oh, I've just remembered. I was meant to be hanging out with Phat this evening. Can she come to the party too.?
Nan : Yeah sure, why not? The more the merrier.

In the last part, the more the merrier means the more fun the party (or other gathering) will be.

Week 9

In the last week I shared you the types of genre. In this week, as it's nearly New Year, I'd like to share with you a dialogue about party plans.

Part 1
Suda: Hi Nan. What are you doing this evening?
Nan: I've got tickets for the party. What are you doing?
Suda: Nothing much, hanging out at house, just chilling out listening to music.

In the part 1, there are two new vocabularies. Let's see together.
First, hanging out
Hanging out is a slang expression often used by younger people which means you spend time doing nothing in particular. It's often used with words lihe park, mall, store, downtown, for example;
"Chaz and Dave spend all their time just hanging out at the mall, they never do anything interesting."
Notice that
Hanging out + at + the park/ mall/ store/etc.
BUT
Hanging out + downtown.

Second, chilling out
Chilling out, means to relax. The interesting thing phrase is the way native speakers of English say it. Although we write "chilling out" when we say the phrase it sounds like chill-in out, without the -g on the end.

Week 8

Genre
  •  Narrative: telling story, usually to entertain.

Give back the heart

What happen to our love?

all good things in the old time, faded away,

like you don't care, no matter how I feel.
just ask how you feel;"do you still love me.?

You pretended to busy, carring things for me,

while walking together, you kept distances from me,

you're made me feel.

*If our love is too reluctant, thengive my heard back to me.

You fell me, what do you want from me?

If we don't belong together, then we shouldn't love each others.

If our love is a journeg's end, then we should break up.

**I’m still waiting for your words;

Could you  explain it? Since when?

When your heart has been chaged.

Is it because of me, or you'd changed your mind?
Since when you love me no more…could you please tell me?

Is it because of me, or you’d changed your mind? **

(repeat * and ** again)

(25 hours)

( ** , ** )

All I Can do
(25 hours)

It had been so long until I could accept it,
Until i learned what it was.
Our love was not easy
When the time that taught us to understand
Determinded that we had to say goodbye.

*I won't blame you for leaving me
Because I knew it all along.

**We ran out of time and you might have to go,
But what's left in my heart
Is the feeling you aren't aware of.
And I can't say it out loud.
All I can do is missing you.

I resolve to live with the truth,
But I'll never forget our good memories.
I'll have you in my heart
With the time whoch keeps passing by so that I can move on
No matter how lonesome I am.

(repeat * and ** again)

I won't blame you for leaving me Because I knew it all along.

(repeat **,** again)

Week 6

In the last week I shared with you about vocabulary of the theme park. In this week I'd like to introduce about one academic. It is a good academic that was described about 'how the poor live'.

One day, a father of a very wealthy family took his son on
a trip to the country with firm purpose of showing his
son how poor people live.
They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of
what would be considered a very poor family.
One their return from their trip, the father asked his son,
"How was the trip?"
"It was great, Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.
"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?"
asked the father.
The son answered," I saw that we have one dog and they
have four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle
of our garden, and they have a creek that has no end.
We have imported lanters in our garden, and they have
the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard,
and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece
of land to live on, and they have fields that go beyond
our sight. We have servants who serve us,
but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow
theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us;
they have friends to protect them."
The boy's father was speechless.
Then his son added, "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how
poor we are."

In this academic, I learned about the difference between the poor and the rich live .Then, I'd like to shared new vocabularies about entertainment:

debut = vt., vi., n. (การ)ออกโรงครั้งแรก,แสดงครั้งแรก
exhibition = n. งานแสดงศิลปะ, นิทรรศการ
nomination = n. การได้รับเสนอชื่อเข้ารับรางวัลหรือชิงตำแหน่ง
perfonmance = n.
